This was our first marital home, and where Mark and Susan spent the first few years of their lives. We enjoyed our time there, but wanted to buy our own home, which we did in 1980. It is in the village of Ireshopeburn a few miles down the dale. The property adjoining it ( with part of the gable end showing) used to be a Presbyterian Church and has a lintel with the date 1687, although this may have been used from another building. It is now derelict, the last tenant leaving in the late 1970's.

First Home
