Wearhead Shop

We now have a new shop and a cafe in the adjoining village of Wearhead. Since the Co-op closed a few years ago we have had to travel several miles for our everyday shopping. The old butcher's shop in the village has now been opened by Karen and her son Justin, and they sell everything we could need, and reasonably priced. The bread and milk are the same prices as supermarkets, so most people feel they can support the shop without having to get the car out. They also have several buy one get one free offers, and stock the Happy Shopper brand, so are part of a national chain encouraging people to "Shop Local". They are open 7 days a week, 8 til 8 so I am sure they will continue to thrive!!
