Daisy, Wild Bugle and Pignut

The daisies are growing all over the pastures, as they do everywhere, the wild bugle grows both in the wood and the pasture. The earthnut, or pignut is also in the pasture. A local name for it is Cain and Abel, as if the root is dug up and the tubers placed in water, last year's tuber will float and this year's tuber will sink. The tuber that swims is Abel the one that sinks is Cain.
