Burnhope Reservoir

Yesterday our local history group went around Burnhope Reservoir. The photo on the left shows the plaque with the opening dates, and the right shows the overflow tunnel. Work was started in 1930 and the village of Burnhope was lost, all houses demolished so they could use the stone for the work. Other stone was quarried locally, and it was finished in 1936.
