Bents Farm

A close up picture of Bents Farm, taken as I walked around Burnhope Reservoir yesterday. The Emerson family have owned this for several generations. The track in front of the house goes through the farmyard and up the hill to High North Grain.

  1. Hi Just found this today ... thanks. My Dad is 90 in May, he always recounts the time he spent during the war years at his maternal grandparent's farm in Cowshill. His parents lived in Sunderland and he came there to live in Cowshill when he was around 5/6 years old - I 'm sure it was at Bents Farm with his Grandma & Grandad Emmerson - My dads name is Joseph Russell Peart, and he was born in 1934 - Would you know if Bents Farm is the Emersons farm from 1939 ? as was hoping to find the farm he stayed at / grew up on during that time to get some pictures for him ....
