Wolsingham Comprehensive School

The school from the lane next to the Churchyard. I attended the old school and then this school from the ages of 11 to 16, as did my children, Mark and Susan.

Old Rectory, Wolsingham

This used to be the Rectory in Wolsingham many years ago. The present Rectory is in the adjoining grounds and this house is now called Desmenses Hall. I remember going to a Garden Party with my grandparents in the summer , and walking throught he grounds which were a bed of aconites in the spring.

Wolsingham Church

I have been down to Wolsingham today and took these photos of the Church of St. Mary & St. Stephen where I was baptized. Had a walk around the Churchyard to visit the graves of my grandparents and great-grandparents.

Rev. George Monkhouse

The stained glass window in Heatherycleugh Church is dedicated to Rev. George Monkouse, vicar of Heatherycleugh from 1876-1901 (pictured right). The window was given to the Church by his widow and her family. He is buried in the old Churchyard, and several of his relations are buried in the present Churchyard.
