The Bridge over the River Wear at West Black Dene, taken from the top side. West Black Dene is a short distance down the dale from Wearhead. Until the 1950s the train used to travel from down dale, the end of the journey was Wearhead. The bottom photo shows the railway tunnel a few yards up from the river.
