Mum to be

I set 12 eggs under one of my Black Marans on Wednesday. If they are successful they should hatch around 9th June, so check back to see!! The last time I set eggs 6 hatched out of the 12, I think around 60% is the expected amount. I got the eggs from a lady at Middleton and they are a variety of breeds, so it will be interesting to see what develops. I have moved her into a shed of her own so the others don't bother her and she has food & water nearby so she can please herself when she leaves the nest for her meals. Usually they only leave the nest for a few minutes at a time, otherwise she will sit tight for 3 weeks, (or get fed up and leave them)
